Operation manual of High Performance Ball Mill

Date:2023-11-29Visits:438

Brief description

HSVM High Performance Ball Mill is an efficient small instrument used for the preparation of laboratory samples (small and trace amounts). This instrument has a three-dimensional motion of rotation, swing, and vibration during grinding, with higher collision energy than other types of ball mills. It has a small volume, light weight, and high efficiency. Can be used for material grinding, mixing, and mechanical alloying. High Performance Ball Mill can use both dry and wet methods to mill or mix various solids, suspensions, and pastes with different particle sizes and materials.

High Performance Ball Mill

Applicable scope

This product is suitable for the analysis of inorganic and organic samples, mechanical alloying, and is suitable for dry and wet grinding

operational principle

The HSVM High Performance Ball Mill adopts the principle of three-dimensional infinity shaped eccentric swing shaft structure. When the motor runs at high speed, the tank body produces eccentric swing, driving the entire bracket to vibrate up and down, completing three-dimensional collaborative grinding including high-speed swing, strong impact, and vibration. The heat generation ratio is low, and the grinding energy input is 2-3 times higher than traditional planetary two-dimensional motion. The efficient mechanical energy greatly improves the grinding speed and efficiency, reducing thermal effects. Enable the sample to achieve mechanical alloying (mechanical activation) in a very short period of time, forming high-energy grinding materials such as nanocrystals or amorphous materials, and fully and uniformly grinding the sample powder.

Selection of ball milling tank

Ordinary cans

Materials: stainless steel, agate, ceramic, nylon, polytetrafluoroethylene, polyurethane, etc.

Capacity: 80ml for stainless steel, 50ml for other tanks

Except for stainless steel cans that can be directly clamped onto the ball mill, other material cans must pass through stainless steel sleeves to be clamped onto the ball mill.

Vacuum tank

Materials: stainless steel, agate, ceramic, nylon, polytetrafluoroethylene, polyurethane, etc.

The stainless steel vacuum tank has a capacity of 80ml and can be directly clamped on the ball mill. Other material tanks with a capacity of 50ml must be clamped on the ball mill through a stainless steel vacuum sleeve.

Feed and discharge particle sizes

Feed particle size: 1mm Discharge particle size: 0.1μm

matters needing attention

To prevent excessive ball milling temperature, this machine is suitable for intermittent operation. It is best to stop for a period of time after running for 30 minutes before starting. If long-term ball milling is required, it must be programmed and run at intervals. After long-term ball milling, the temperature and pressure inside the tank are very high. After the ball milling is completed, it needs to be cooled before disassembly to prevent abrasive and grinding balls from being sprayed out under high pressure.

Some metal powders have extremely fine particles after ball milling, and the tank is in a high-temperature and oxygen deficient state. If the tank cover is suddenly opened and the abrasive is poured out, it will undergo intense oxidation and combustion. Therefore, after ball milling, the metal powder must be fully cooled before slowly opening and then pouring out the abrasive.
